Ordering Silk Dupion

Our order form may be useful when ordering silk dupions as we have a vast selection of colors in stock.

Ordering silk dupion is as easy as 1-2-3. Follow these instructions and, before you know it, your silk will arrive.

      3 - Mail, fax or phone it to us

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards or money orders. We will accept personal checks but they will delay shipment of your order for as much as two weeks, depending on how long it takes the banks to process them.

*note: the order form is a pdf file which requires Adobe Acrobat to display itself. The Acrobat Reader is free and very useful so you should probably have it on your computer. But If you don't have it and don't want it, get in touch with us and we will send you an order form. Or, you can call us up and we will fill one out for you.

Ordering yardage:
The minimum cut piece is 1/2 yard. There are differences in dye lots. Try to order as much as you will need if it is important that there is no color variation in your project because there is not guarantee of an exact match from different dye baths.

Except for damaged pieces, there are no returns of cut pieces.

Our silk dupions come in two widths - 45" at $15 per yard and 54" at $21 per yard. The width of each color is listed on the web pages for each color group and is marked with an asterisk on the order form.

Ordering samples:
Internet photo reproduction doesn't do justice to the color, texture, hand, sheen or iridescence of silk dupion. We offer over 160 colors that include some very subtle variations. If an exact color match is important to you, please order samples of the colors that interest you.

Samples are approximately 1 x 3.5 inches and costs 25¢ each. You can order samples for a color group for $2.00. And you can order samples for the entire collection for $25.00.

Shipping:
We ship anything that will fit in an envelope through the post office and larger things UPS. Shipping costs are $2.25 for orders up to $50.00, $4.50 up to $100.00 and $6.00 over $100.00. Shipping costs for international orders are calculated individually.

                
Explanations, Disclaimers and Notes:
This is our first web offering. It is exciting and we are glad to be able to share a part of the store with more people. But it is also a little alarming in an organizationally challenging way. We have always been sort of old-fashioned and we are used to doing things in an old-fashioned way. In fact, our favorite cloth and favorite jewels all look old. Well, at this point we look old too. The point is that we are resisting transacting business directly through the web and so haven't yet made the plunge into shopping carts and total virtual interactivity. Maybe we should. Probably we will. For now, the simple truth is that we like to talk to our customers and find out what you are doing, what you need, what you need it for. We are used to participating in your projects and answering questions and coming up with ideas about how to solve your problems. This is so "not web". So, for now, you must order through the mail or phone or fax and, of course, you are welcome to express your opinion about how you prefer to transact business. Our pledge to be guided by your interests is the kind of interactivity we can handle.
